Career Profile

Mr Bilal Al-Sarireh is an NHS Consultant in Gastro-Intestinal & Laparoscopic surgery with a special interest in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary and Laparoscopic surgery.

He was awarded a PhD from University of Nottingham in 2001 looking at the immunological response and behavior in human solid tumours.  His higher surgical training took place in the Mersey Deanery in Liverpool from 2003 until 2008.

During this time he gained extensive training in general and laparoscopic surgery and developed a particular interest in Hepato-Pancreatico and Biliary surgery.

 

Specialist Interests

In April 2009 he was appointed as a Consultant in ABM University Health Board to establish a tertiary Pancreaticobiliary unit for mid and south Wales.

His private work at Saint David’s House (based at Sancta Maria Hospital) encompasses convention and laparoscopic general surgery procedures including Upper GI endoscopy, laparoscopic antireflux surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy with CBD exploration, laparoscopic repair of all types of abdominal wall hernia, as well as consultation and management of patients with Hepato-Pancreaticobiliary problems.
