Statement

Outside work I spend as much time as possible with my family. I also have sporting interests in sailing, swimming, sea kayaking and windsurfing. When time permits I also plan to resume my interest in architectural glass making. Although related to work I am involved with the Vision 2020 links project in my spare time.

Like many of my generation I was the first in my family to go to tertiary education. I didn't know much about medicine when I applied but has turned out to be the second best decision of my life (Mrs Laws please note). I am lucky to have a job that is so rewarding and interesting. There cannot be a much greater satisfaction than restoring sight. Having worked extensively around the UK and abroad I also feel lucky to be working in South Wales.
