Career ProfileAppointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in 1994, Mr Davies’ NHS sessions are undertaken at Singleton Hospital, Swansea and his private clinics at St David's House at Sancta Maria Hospital.
In addition to general ophthalmology and small incision cataract surgery, Mr Davies’ specialist interests are the surgical management of vitreoretinal disorders and diabetic eye disease.
Mr Davies qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1981. His training in ophthalmology was in Manchester and London. He completed an MD thesis in 1992 based on research work undertaken at the Hammersmith Hospital , London into the aetiology of diabetic retinopathy.
Mr Davies is registered with the GMC and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is a member of the BMA and The British and Irish Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons (BEAVRS) . Mr Davies is a Postgraduate College Tutor in Ophthalmology at Singleton Hospital in Swansea.
