Mr Williams qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990. He had an extensive basic surgical training becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons at his first attempt in 1995. His higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics was on the All Wales Rotation, with additional time spent at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic hospital; Fellowship training in Sydney, Australia; and specialist Foot and Ankle training in Bristol, France, Holland, and Switzerland. He obtained the Intercollegiate examination in 1999, again at his first attempt, and became an NHS Full Time consultant in March 2002 at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.

Mr Williams is able to advise on all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. His main specialist interests are Foot and Ankle Surgery, Paediatric Orthopaedics and Trauma. Mr Williams is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association; the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS); and the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic surgery (BSCOS). He is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

He also has an active medical legal practice and has been producing independent medical reports for 14 years. He provides these for the court and as such understands the medical legal process and civil procedure rules. As an active and integral member of the Acute On-Call team in Morriston Hospital, Swansea, he deals with all aspects of traumatic injuries as a routine part of his practice.
