Advice on Breast Implants

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency  (MHRA) has advised that that breast implant surgeons should not use silicone gel filled breast implants manufactured by French company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP).  Sancta Maria Hospital can assure customers that they do not and have never used this product.

The breast implants used by cosmetic consultants at Sancta Maria Hospital are safe, effective and FDA* approved. Breast implants are medical devices that typically consist of a silicone elastomer shell filled with saline or silicone gel. They are intended for women who are seeking breast augmentation (cosmetic) or breast reconstruction.

The cosmetic consultants practicing at Sancta Maria are all NHS qualified and also practice at the Welsh Centre for Plastic Surgery in Morriston Hospital.
