Endoscopy – Diagnostic oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy
An oesphago-gastro-duodenoscopy is an examination of the oesophagus (swallowing tube), stomach and duodenum (the first portion of the small bowel).
A thin, flexible scope (viewing device) is used.
Your Doctor will either look through the scope, or use it to relay pictures to a TV screen.
A sample of tissue may be taken for further examination in the laboratory.
